Not sure if anyone knows this, but heres the command line for 3rd person view and also no clip view!.
Go to "Documents\EA Games\Mirror's Edge\TdGame\Config\" open the file "TDInput" with notepad. Add this line to the "bindings" list:
Bindings=(Name="F4",Command="FreeFlightCamera",Control=False,Shift=False,Alt=False)
then press F4 a few times!.

Most games nowadays have a fully animated third person body, just in case. Like Crysis, which has one of the best animated third person character even though it's designed to be FPS. But anyways, it's nice to see you can do that in ME
.

I'll try this

This footage proves that they didn't do a good job. This is probably also why Multiplayer didn't make it to ME. ^^ The animations actually don't look much better than those of the "protagonist" of unreal 1, which is nearly 11 years old by now. But still, it's refreshing to see more than just her hands and feet for once.

They didn't mean to do a good job. If that's the same model we see in first-person, they made it deliberately disfigured so it would look better from the limited first-person view all first-person games have (even accounting for Mirror's Edge's wider FOV).
And if it isn't the model we see in first-person, they still didn't concentrate on the third-person model because they decided early on they didn't want it seen!

I guess you don't know what a world model is, like iv'e explained before this world model is only used twice for the 3D cut scenes, and to cast the shadow of Faiths body.
More detail in this topic.

Well, I do know and I do also know what body awareness means in a game. I was just referring to Tonxey, who said, that the animations weren't too bad for a first person game, but there are actually many firstperson games with bodyawareness, where the player animations are perfect (e.g. Riddick). The common approach to that is to use a different, well animated model (the worldmodel) for third person and shadowcasting than for firstperson, to make it look good in both ways. And the good looks would have been no problem at all, since most animations already existed (Jackknife,coprunners etc.) and would therefor result in "correctly animated" shadows. I guess though, that those animations would need further tweaking, so that they fit to faith, which would be more work again. So again, it's just EA's fault!! :-D
When I watch that video, it almost looks like there was no different firstperson model, which could also be why the cameramovement is so restricted. But I didn't have a closer look at the files so far, so I can't tell for sure. And just as a background, I have been working with the unreal engine and specifically it's editor multiple times before, while also attending various lectures about computer graphics at my university, so please don't be trying to teach me about game engineenvironments... ;-)

I'm not trying to lecture you or anything!, but your first comment seemed as if you didn't have any experience with world environments ect. Good to see someone who's into game design!.

Yeah. 3rd person is world model, and definitely different from first person arms model (the legs seem to be the same)
in first person:
arms=separate model
legs=same as world model
I know since I replaced CH_Faith_Cinematic.upk with another file, and Faith's texture was completely black, including legs in first person, but arms were fine.
That might also explain why the self-shadow is so lowres on the legs in first person

Hmmm, I cant find that TDInput file maybe DefaultInput if yes can u tell me where exactly to put that command because i tried to put it on a lot of places but that game don't Start .

Heh, I can't really see why someone would want to play it like that. Sure it's a good laugh, but there's just no atmosphere. I wouldn't mind if the sequel had a third person mode that could be turned on, but I still would just keep on playing in first person mode.

Do people ever understand?? It's not meant to be played in a third person perspective, it is only there to provide the shadow when you're in 1st person. Gosh, you can only get this by hacking, not something you would do normally, so don't even expect to play properly in 3rd person. No atmosphere? Lol, then leave 3rd person alone.

I did understand it's not meant to be played like that and hacking is the only way you could do it. If it was meant to be played like that, then they would have made it better. As I said, I don't understand why someone wants to play it like that.
In case your post was for me, colin002. ![]()

Actually Faith in 3rd person sucks. I mean, shes looking great but her movements are very weird and kinda stupid! I saw many youtube videos and I have to say that 3rd person few ruined this game.I realy dont like it - its funny but Im glad that we can play ME only in 1st person.
