A few more easter eggs to go! This requires much more of a closer inspection.
1. The P&K SecuMail Server ID version 1.9.84 shown on the red PC's screen with the job resignation email is a reference to George Orwell's 1984.
2. The name, Milton, scribbled on a note is most probably a reference to the 'squirrely looking guy' in Office Space.
3. Another reference to Office Space, the legendary red Swingline stapler is found on one of the desks inside Shard's server room. http://www.virtualstapler.com/office_sp … _looks.jpg
4. The "Vegade 5-day-in-a-can drink" advertising found all over the city is most likely a reference to Soylent Green. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soylent_Green
Oh someone please post the voicemail messages up here, and also the advertising in the lifts! Thanks!
P.S. Look at warning signs around the city and you can see them in different languages; Chinese (Mandarin), Japanese and Russian.
EDIT: I was curious and decided to google 'Newstream Energy', apparently the city's energy corporation and guess what I've found? http://www.newstreamenergy.com/ Check it out!

Now this must be the most closest reference to the janitor
there is book called Flowers of Algernon where the main character has IQ only 68, he works as a janitor and he is frend with a laboratory mouse.

I checked the Exif-metadata on all the images from newstreamenergy and pirandellokruger and in pirandellokruger/image2.jpg I found this:

Your name is a lie, your code was wrong, they found me, you led them to me.
But I escaped, I always escape, it's what I do, It's all I do.
Before it was only personal, for what you had taken from me.
But things have changed, they always change, and for you, they have not changed for the better.
I'll find you, but don't worry, you won't see me coming, none of you will.

If you look through those other sites, it says that they found a code for "Mirror's Edge Two". hrmmm.

I've noticed that in the Ropeburn level (at the subway section) there's a Half Life reference. On the scrolling marque it states "Have a safe and productive day". This statement was made by the PA system during the tram ride at the beginning of the game. It ties nicely with the subway context of ME.
I also thought it funny how in the "office space" of Pirandello/Kruger level, there's a big difference between Mark's and Milton's desks. Mark is obvious a slob since his desk area is littered with trash, crushed soda cans, and paper everywhere. Milton's desk is complete opposite - totally organized down to how everything is placed around right angles. You can imagine this guy being obsessively anal about things (like the main character from the tv series Monk) and the two coworkers getting on each other's nerves since they're so different and share office space together.

I don't know if anyone has found this but I found another rat conversation. On The Shard, once you get up from the elevator (through the roof) and complete that part, then climb up to the ventilation canal, there are two ways. The normal way and then you can go up. If you climb up, you get higher than you would usually and on top of another ventilation canal. If you walk on it they start speaking something about rats.

When you drop down from the vent (underneath the cargolift) into the hallway, second window to your left (I think).

Yeah, in the Pirandello Kruger facility right before being chased by the pursuit cops there are 4 interrogation rooms:
1st one on left: Empty.
1st one on right: Blood on floor, chair is knocked over.
2nd one on right: Empty.
2nd one on left: Mark Schooner tied to chair.

About that 88.7... trying to get someting... think its bigger than just some make-up radiofreq. Besides if you want to send sensitive secret messenges you wouldn't use a FM channel that EVERYBODDY with a normal radio can access... besides the runners dosn't talk with eacother over radio (not what iv seen) only Faith-Mec (and Cel when they work with her) so the other runners probably use other freq. If it should be a radiofrec someone near stockholm should chek it, cause its more likely a hint of some kind... Mayby just a hint to the EXIF data on www.pirandellokruger.com or something... if any1 get any better idea i would like to hear it... there must be something big about this

Hello! New here! Saw this thread and I thought I'd make my contribution.
I was looking for a way to attain some mp3's of some of the background music in Mirror's Edge (preferably by getting the sound files straight from my computer as I have the PC version). The files are packaged up into .upk files, so I had to spend some time searching for a program to extract the files within. I did find one made for ME (don't remember where. google it =\), and proceeded to look at the .ogm files for the correct music.
During my search, I found a file named BF_Casino_theme.ogm. It's only a few seconds long, but sure enough, it plays a techno-ish version of the theme song from DICE's Battlefield Series! I'm not sure if it is actually played somewhere in the game, but I thought that was a pretty nifty little thing to find.

Yup, I didn't notice that I could look through the windows on my first run(s) through the place. Only later did I see the overturned chair with the blood on the floor and the other chair that's just sitting there. Missed the guy (who supposedly is Mark) tied to the chair, though, will have to look for him.

Probably been mentioned and not really that hidden, but doesn't The Shard really look a lot like that huge blue skyscraper in City 17 in Half-Life 2? First time I saw that building I was like, "wow, that really looks like The Shard!".
As for the 88.7, that's probably just the radio frequency. Doesn't have to be runner-related, could be a frequency they know someone (the November people?) is planning to use for something. That, or it's a longtitude or latitude. Being Norwegian, I know (or at least I'm very certain) that 88.7 would be really far north, off the northern tip of the Scandinavian peninsula, but I don't know about a west-east position.

Again someone saying 88.7 is a radiofrequenze. If the riots where talking to eachother in a highly monitored world they would of course use a radio... its the safets way to send messenges directly to another person without anyone knowing... NOT!!!!!! remember that the govement is monitoring everything. RADIO might be the first thing they look at. And if they didnt monitor radioes, using 88.7 as frequenzy is STUPID a little boy with a cellphone could acidently go one channel down from where he listens to music and hit 88.7 SINSE ITS INSIDE NORMAL RADIO RANGE!!!!!! besides if the novemberriots could talk to eachother directly via radio THERE WOULD BE NO RUNNERS!!!!
The next sentence could be a
---SPOILER---
Runners are THE ONLY communication the riots have, thats why icarus was made, kill all runners = No comunications = No riots
so there is NO WAY 88.7 is a riot-related radiofrequenze (nor a CPF if thats what you think)
I dont think its a radiofrequenze, maybe the track of 88.7 dosnt lead further then to the messenge in PK's homepage's image2's EXIF's caption
wow that was a lot of ---'s

I also found it! There is also a second file with 'lift' in it's name and it's located under A_M_SP09 folder, so I'll start searching and listening all lifts in 9th level - The Shard.
//Edit:
I made a video regarding that case: [CLICK]
Sadly, I didn't find that music during playing 9th level and I tried all lifts, even with guns
, and nothing.

I found something similair to what LoganC found.I forgot the level, but I found it near a runners bag.I found the secert bag,and on the vent thingy(I was on a roof) next to it,it said something like this:
"Life is neither good or evil, but *something something* is good or evil"
Was it "Life is neither good or evil, but only a place for good and evil"?
This was said by Napoleon Bonaparte...

When i ran the speedrun of New Eden, when i got to the bad guys arriving in a helicopter, i noticed that one of the three guys missed the rope, and fell to he's death. I was so stunned so that i didn't think of taking he's weapon and save some time, so i punched one of the two remaining guys and i died. I still havent finished that speedrun under 9 minutes (that run took 9.06) so i'll try again and see if it happens.
I doubt it's an easteregg, or eaven a glitch, but perhaps something Dice put in to "wow" or help speedrunners or something.
I also saw it today, and the police runners die really often...
I love the part in the kate-mission where i get a smg and wait for the 2 police runners to shoot them...
Today, i shot one and searched for the second - he missed the pipe and lay dead under it...
